Frequently asked questions.
How much will this cost me?
The standard rate for individual and couple’s therapy is $175 per 45-50 minute session. All fees are payable by credit card and will be charged automatically following the services rendered and/or for any appointments that were not canceled with at least 24 hours notice. More information about rates and payment is provided on the Informed Consent form that you will be provided if you decide to move forward with scheduling an appointment.
Additionally, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Do you take my insurance?
I do not accept any insurance at this time, so all fees are private pay (out-of-pocket). I find that not taking insurance allows me to better focus my time and energy on continuing to receive specialized training and providing top notch quality care to my clients (rather than haggling for hours over the phone with insurance companies). Some clients also prefer not to use their insurance for the sake of privacy, as insurance companies have the right to access your mental health record in order to pay for therapy.
If I have Out-Of-Network benefits will I be able to be reimbursed?
This is a question for your insurance company and, if this is important to you, I highly encourage you to clarify your benefits with your insurer prior to beginning therapy. If you do want to receive a monthly statement for this purpose, I will be happy to provide you with a Superbill each month which you may then be able to submit directly to your insurance for reimbursement.
I feel unsure about virtual sessions. What does this actually look like?
Prior to each appointment, you will receive a link for your upcoming appointment. I meet with all clients through a secure platform called Simple Practice. So far I have found (and I think clients would agree) that it is fairly user friendly and doesn’t feel too different from in person sessions. Many clients also report enjoying the added flexibility it gives them with scheduling since they don’t have to drive anywhere!
However, if you try Telehealth and either one of us doesn’t feel like it’s the most effective for you, then we can discuss other available options and I will be happy to provide you with referrals to other therapists who may offer in-person appointments. Your success is a top priority!
