Hi, I’m Leanne! Below I share a little more about myself and what I enjoy about being a therapist.

First off, I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist who provides therapy to clients residing any where within California. I tend to be able to “click” the best with neurodivergent clients who are open to thinking outside of the box, motivated to “do the work” (but may have felt stuck), and who may have historically felt like a misfit or misunderstood by others.

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling dysregulated or lost within themselves, relationships, work/school environments, etc. In my work, I’ve noticed that a lot of dysregulation can stem from a mismatch in the client’s needs/values and the environment. So part of the work that we do is trying to find a better alignment between self and the environment; this can include modifying environment, finding the right accommodations, using new tools or strategies, re-evaluating relationships, or improving self-compassion and radical acceptance around the things that cannot being changed.

Though I have always been the most passionate about working with clients in this particular area of the field— I also have years of experience in other settings, including school based, residential treatment, community mental health, a comprehensive DBT center, and private practice. Throughout my years of experience, I have been able to work with numerous individuals, couples, families, and groups with diverse backgrounds and presenting concerns/goals in treatment, so there are very few things that can take me by surprise when I am getting to know a new client :)

Lastly, I have walked (and continue to walk) a neurodivergent journey myself and have learned many lessons in a relatable way. I am also married and a mother, which allows me to have an even deeper understanding of some of the wonders and challenges that can come with being a neurodivergent spouse and parent, as well as creating a neurodivergent friendly home.
